Does light therapy really work?

The benefits of LED light therapy in promoting cellular growth and healing were first discovered by NASA.  Blue and Red LED lights have the most beneficial wavelengths that promote cellular regeneration and collagen production.

What are the Clinical applications?

Repair   Recover  Restore

  1. Acne

  2. Wrinkles

  3. Age spots, freckles, melasma and hyperpigmented scars.

Which lights are useful?

Blue /Violet light reduces the sebaceous gland activity thereby reducing the oil (sebum) on which the Acne causing bacteria (Propionibacterium) thrive; it also helps kill the bacteria. These mechanisms reduce the incidence as well as the severity of Acne thereby reducing the psychosocial impact associated with this disease.

Red light increases the collagen production which is key to healing. It gives a fullness underneath the skin thereby reducing wrinkles and fine lines.   Anti-inflammatory effects of Red light reduces scarring.

Combination therapy uses both Blue and Red lights to address Acne and the associated scarring.  Light therapy can also be combined with other therapies such as Dermabrasion, Chemical peels and Oxygen Infusion treatments in order to achieve best results.

How long is the light therapy given?

Typical treatments last for 10-20 minutes. The time may differ based on your skin condition and the use of adjunct therapies.
